Discovery in a world of infinite software gets solved by personal agents transacting with other agents on the internet, removing the space and time constraint so you are only compute and data constrained
52:11 Agent to agent transacting becomes the discovery layer

Uber should not supply real-time car and price APIs to third-party aggregation apps, even for incremental volume, because being aggregated on price is non-strategic
He wants to own the consumer front end and have people start in the Uber app; Uber currently wins that first look with 200 million monthly consumers
46:07 Refuse aggregation and own the consumer front end

An agent fulfilling 'get me my usual Uber' doesn't damage the business, and even price comparison across Uber, Lyft and Waymo is fine if Uber wins on price — the real risk is consumers migrating away from starting in the Uber app
Roughly 80% of people start with Uber today; the loss is in the default first look, not in the individual transaction
47:19 The risk is losing the default entry point not the transaction

Ride-hailing and delivery are managed transactions rather than set-and-forget e-commerce, which is why the feared agent disaggregation of the consumer front end hasn't played out
Everything between booking and completion — driver-rider interaction, pickup visuals, lost items, payment credentials — has to be handled, unlike an e-commerce order you ignore until it arrives
47:49 Managed transactions resist agent disintermediation

Agentic booking will strip the transactional layer out of travel and shrink Airbnb's addressable market down to experiential booking
For functional trips buyers only care about price, location and policy compliance, which an agent handles; what's left for a human-chosen platform is only the experiential end
48:42 Agents strip transactional demand leaving only experiential

Uber's response to agentic front ends is to be where the consumers are and participate — it will have the conversation with any large company wanting to do something on the consumer front end
Ultimately you have to meet consumers where they are
49:26 Participate in agent surfaces where consumers are

Integrating Uber into third-party AI/agentic front ends is harder than it looks because the difficulty lies in the failure cases — who owns communication, responsibility and cost when something goes wrong — not in the happy path.
The transaction can originate in different channels and end in the Uber app, so responsibilities for exception handling (e.g. a hotel needing to reach the customer about a change) have to be defined and paid for by someone.
49:44 Exception handling ownership is the real integration barrier
